CRI and its partners are participating in 2 sessions of the third edition of the Geneva Trialogue that takes place online on Thursday 18 March 2021 around the theme “Scaling Open Innovation for the SDGs”.
In 2016, responding to the UN General Assembly’s call for collaborative partnerships towards sustainable development for all, the University of Geneva launched the Geneva Trialogue: a one-day event gathering academic, private sector, and multilateral stakeholders to discuss knowledge and learning tools, platforms, and initiatives for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Let’s join us for two sessions in particular (full program here):
4pm – Engineering the new ecosystem for Learning: Scaling through knowledge and research
This session will discuss gaps and hurdles that are limiting the wider adoption of collective problem-solving approaches in learning institutions (K12 and universities), weaving perspectives from educators/social entrepreneurs, policy-making, academic and private sectors. Special focus will be given to the research and knowledge needed to frame these emerging practices to facilitate scaling.

5pm – Helping Youth Innovators turn Ideas into Action
CRI and its partners of the Crowd4SDG consortium (UNIGE, CERN, CSIC, IIIA, Politecnico di Milano, UNITAR, Universite de Paris and CRI) promotes citizen science aimed at the SDGs, focusing on Climate Action. Its goal is to assess the usefulness of practical innovations developed by the teams, and research and investigate how AI applications can enhance and provide effective monitoring of SDG targets and indicators by citizens.
In the framework of this project, the panel of this session will reflect on maximizing youth innovation projects’ capacities to help them reach their full potential. The speakers will discuss the challenges to enable youth innovation projects and the opportunities leading start-ups, established entrepreneurship actors and international organizations offer to overcome these challenges.
