Join us for R&D Unplugged #8 with Serge Stinckwich
Empowering Inclusive Decisions with AI & Social Simulations for SDG acceleration
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) aim for a better and more sustainable future. However, progress is lagging, and in some areas, we are regressing. Evaluating the impacts of policy on economic, social, and environmental sustainability is crucial to understanding this stagnation. Artificial Intelligence and Social Simulations can reveal the complex factors driving sustainability. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of modelling and simulation in guiding policy decisions. Effective data-informed policies require inclusive and representative data. Responsible modelling must be evidence-based, transparent, and accountable, considering the impacts on marginalized populations and future generations. How can we ensure diverse groups are included in decision-making by using AI-generated outputs ? This presentation will showcase research projects from the United Nations University Institute in Macau.
