Join us next 14 February 2025 at the Learning Planet Institute (LPI) to celebrate the Week of Women in Science 2025 with an outstanding panel of specialists, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners working to bridge the gap of Women in Science and Technology.

This event is open to students, practitioners and researchers interested in this topic and ready to exchange about their visions and proposals for a gender-inclusive and intersectional research, education and policy.

LPI Citizen Science Team’s PATTERN Open Research and the Marie Curie Alumni Association’s MEDNIGHT EU funded projects are joining forces to launch their upcoming initiatives on Gender, non discrimination and inclusion in Research and the Exhibition “Les Maries Curies de la Mediterrannée” (The Maries Curies of the Mediterranean).

This interactive event will be composed by the following activities:

  • A Workshop on Power and Privilege in Research from 14h to 17h (CET) opened to students, practitioners and researchers, composed by:
    • An Interactive lecture on Blocking Toxic Speech Online by Prof. Biancamaria Cepollaro, San Raffaele University of Life Science (UniSR).
    • A double loop learning and design thinking workshop designed and facilitated by Andrea Giraldo Sevilla, Research Manager at the LPI’s Citizen Science Team. This workshop will be about Master Suppression Techniques (Ås, Berit. 2004) and the FORRT’s Academic Wheel of Privilege.
  • The Launch event Women of Science: Research, Resolve, Revolution from 18h to 19h30 (CET), composed by:
    • A warm welcome and introduction by François Taddéi, President of the LPI, Corine Portioli, Vice Chair of Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA), Alessio Livio Spera and Stefania Laneve, PATTERN Open Research Project co-leaders, and Giulia Rizzo, Chair of the MCAA France and representative of the MEDNIGHT Project.
    • A Roundtable on Bridging the Gaps and Opportunities to advance training in Gender and Inclusion in Research and Educationmoderated by Camille Gaullon, FIRE doctoral school pedagogical & scientific coordinator, and composed by the following panellists:
      • Andrea Giraldo Sevilla, Research Manager at the Citizen Science Team of the LPI-CYU Research Unit on Learning Transitions
      • Lucile Alexandre, MSCA Postdoctoral Researcher at Université Paris Cité
      • Fernanda Bajanca, Clinical Research Manager at the CHU Toulouse and MEDNIGHT Project Coordinator
      • Una McCarthy-Fakhry, Senior Officer on Gender and Education at UNESCO HQ – Education Sector
    • A Roundtable on How to link Gender and Inclusion in Research, Education and Science Policy towards Societal Challengesmoderated by Asya Salnikova, Science Officer at the European Science Foundation, and composed by the following panellists:
      • Lora Gailly, Associate Project Officer of the UNESCO Call to Action “Closing the Gender Gap in Science”, Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Section of UNESCO Headquarters
      • Kave Bulambo, Founder of BlackinTechBerlin and TalentDiverse
      • Maria Rosa Mondardini, Managing Director of the Citizen Science Center at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich
      • Radenka Krsmanovic Whiffenm, Science Officer and Chair of MCAA Western Balkans
