Empowering students: how to turn the digital transition into an opportunity for inclusive education? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Empowering students is the cornerstone of inclusive education. To do this, we look at inspiring situations to understand the conditions and context that help teachers move towards inclusive practice. We ask what travels and what needs to be adapted - what can be replicated, what needs to be adapted to local conditions and context, and what should not be copied. In particular, we look at the ambivalent role of digital technology: it can lock in inequalities or, when guided in a targeted way, develop action and support the transition to sustainability.\"\"<\/p>\n

Muriel Epstein is a researcher in educational sciences at the EMA (\u00c9cole Mutations Apprentissage) laboratory at CY Cergy Paris University, and affiliated with the SAMM (Analyse Statistique et Mod\u00e9lisation Pluridisciplinaire) laboratory at Paris 1 Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne University. <\/span><\/p>\n

After working on school dropout and spatial segregation, her research focuses on digital technology as a possible lever for transforming schools towards greater inclusion. She is particularly interested in the risks of \u201ccrystallization\u201d associated with digital technology and the potential evolution of teachers' professional roles and postures. She is also working on methodological issues and how qualitative and quantitative methods can be combined in social science research.<\/span><\/p>\n
