(in English) Masterclass: \u201cCosmopolitics of the Anthropocene\u201d Speaker: Philippe Descola, Professor Emeritus of Social Anthropology at the Coll\u00e8ge de France, researcher in anthropology, ethnology and philosophy, Paris, France Abstract: In many parts of the world, the use of land depends on a multitude of non-human entities endowed with autonomous agency with which humans must negotiate - deities, spirits, genies, ancestors, mountains, animals, meteors. The political relationship to the earth differs from that which we know in the Western world, either because non-humans are social agents within an encompassing collectivity, or because they are considered subjects acting within their own collectivity. These examples are worth considering for a less destructive, less anthropocentric approach to the Earth.<\/p>\n

This masterclass program is organized by the EURIP Graduate School (\u00c9cole Universitaire de Recherche Interdisciplinaire de Paris). Located at the Learning Planet Institute, in collaboration with Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9, it brings together the AIRE Master's program (Approaches to Interdisciplinary Research and Education) and the FIRE doctoral school (Fronti\u00e8res de l'Innovation en Recherche et \u00c9ducation). EURIP welcomes post-graduate students and early-career researchers who wish to tackle global challenges related to sustainability and planetary health through innovative interdisciplinary approaches.<\/p>\n
