The 28 citizen science ambassadors will be selected to act as local representatives and promoters of citizen science and the ECS project<\/strong> in their respective countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ECS ambassadors will support and promote ECS activities, and more generally raise awareness of citizen science, spread and strengthen citizen science in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you'd like to find out more about becoming an active member of a growing citizen science community, read the candidate's guide here<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the overall aim of expanding and strengthening the European citizen science community, the ECS (European Citizen Science)<\/a>, is focused on supporting and empowering citizen scientists, as well as expanding and strengthening their initiatives across Europe. For example, by creating a European Academy of Citizen Science, under the aegis of Universit\u00e9 Cit\u00e9 Paris and the Learning Planet Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All the initiatives supported by the project are aimed at one or more of the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n To achieve these goals, the ECS project is launching this month its call for 28 citizen science ambassadors across Europe (EU-27 + UK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Are you interested in problem solving? R&D division.<\/a> Thanks to the work of its citizen science team, the Institute supports a series of projects that involve people from all walks of life in research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thanks to citizen science, everyone can participate in many stages of the scientific process, from the conception of the research question to the publication and dissemination of results, via data collection, volunteer mapping, data interpretation and analysis. Citizen scientists, as contributors, collaborators or project leaders, play an important role in the scientific project. Everyone is a potential researcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the ECS project, our researchers are committed to creating high-quality resources and activities to enhance the skills and knowledge of citizen science practitioners, civil society, public authorities, businesses, (in)formal and educational institutions, museums, public libraries and research funding and delivery bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Institute is also involved in the citizen science project PATTERN<\/a>, which aims to promote the practice of open and responsible research and innovation (Open RRI) by developing and piloting training activities for researchers at all stages of their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the past, the Learning Planet Institute has also been the French partner of the European \u201cLearning Planet\" project.\u201cDoing It Together Science (DITOs<\/a>)\u201d, a three-year European project that came to an end in 2019. The aim of DiTOs was to empower and engage citizens and policymakers in open scientific research and innovation. To continue this commitment<\/a>, The Learning Planet Institute was also one of six partners in the transdisciplinary consortium Crowd4SDG<\/a>. The program - which ends in March 2023 - was a research and innovation action supported by the European Commission's Science program, and encouraged the development of citizen science projects focused on climate action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The European Citizen Science (ECS) project<\/a> has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation framework program under grant agreement no. 101058509.
