This year's theme brings together students from all over the world to collaborate, together, to build innovative solutions and \u00abopen source\u00bb medical prototypes in connection with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Learning Planet Institute will be holding a closing event on its Paris campus on July 19 to present the projects designed by students during the summer school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:49px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning by doing, in an international setting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched 7 years ago by the\u2019<a href=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/en\/linstitut-des-defis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Challenge Institute<\/a> (co-founded by the Learning Planet Institute and <a href=\"https:\/\/u-paris.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9<\/a>), the SDG Summer School has become a not-to-be-missed annual event for students from higher education establishments in France and abroad. Lasting three weeks and taught in English on the theme of \u00abPrototyping open-source solutions in connection with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games\u00bb, this new session brings together, as it does every year, a diversity of academic and cultural profiles: natural sciences, humanities, medicine, IT, design, gaming, art... Which is a real asset for encouraging collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/capture-decran-2024-07-01-a-135145-1024x385-1.png\" class=\"wp-image-36530\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A program for acquiring solid skills while learning differently<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In line with the Learning Planet Institute's commitment to building a \u00abplanetary university\u00bb open to all, in order to learn how to \u00abtake care of ourselves, others and the planet\u00bb, the SDG Summer School focuses on building skills for students, by learning differently and solving complex real-life problems and challenges. Students learn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>International and interdisciplinary collaboration, working effectively with teams of students and teachers from diverse academic and geographical backgrounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The prototyping of open source medical solutions, focused on sustainable development, by encouraging the creation of innovative solutions and medical prototypes accessible to all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This annual session is based on three key principles: collective intelligence, a project-based approach and interdisciplinarity. This unique pedagogical approach offers students the opportunity to acquire essential practical and strategic skills, while making a positive contribution to today's global challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the final days of the summer school, the focus will be on documentation and final exhibition at an event open to the public, where student projects will be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/capture-decran-2024-07-01-a-135358-1024x261-1.png\" class=\"wp-image-36531\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setting course for an international Olympiad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the SDG Summer School teams will be selected to represent the Learning Planet Institute at the <a href=\"https:\/\/sdgsolutionspace.org\/sdg-olympiad-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SDG Olympiad 2024<\/a> (organized by the University of Geneva), an international Olympiad inspired by the <a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/fr\/goals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sustainable Development Objectives<\/a> of the United Nations and aims to have a social and environmental impact focused on young people.
