The kindergarten and primary school pupils chose to tackle issues that affect them, such as bullying, well-being at school, waste and poverty. They then imagined and built incredibly imaginative solutions, which they had the pleasure of sharing with other classes. A meeting that illustrates the principle at the heart of the B\u00e2tisseurs program: enabling students to take action, to have a positive impact on the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well done to all the students and their teachers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/c125650-1024x576-1.jpg\" alt=\"Ramona Coupel Dulgheru&#039;s class - Builders of Possibilities\" class=\"wp-image-37882\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Builder method: 4 steps to building a classroom project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>From kindergarten to high school, the B\u00e2tisseurs de Possibles (Builders of Possibilities) approach guides the class through four key stages to help students find and build a solution to a problem they have raised: 1-Identify a problem; 2-Find a solution (and dare to come up with crazy ideas); 3-Realize the solution; 4-Share the solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each stage, the B\u00e2tisseurs de Possibles program offers a methodology and tools (collective intelligence games, guiding frameworks for facilitating sessions) to facilitate cooperation, observation and the implementation of solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to a project-based approach to teaching, students are actively involved in the learning process, from the identification of a problem affecting them in their daily lives (class, school, neighborhood, community, society, planet, etc.) - linked to the issues at stake. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/fr\/objectifs-de-developpement-durable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sustainable development goals<\/a>, defined by the UN - to its resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/4-etapes-de-la-demarche_300_dpi-1024x356-1.png\" alt=\"stages of the B\u00e2tisseurs de Possibles method\" class=\"wp-image-37883\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00ab <\/strong>There's too much fighting in the yard<strong><em> <\/em>\u00bb<\/strong> - Good health and well-being at school<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>L\u00e9a Souccar-Lecourvoisier's Grande Section class, \u00c9cole Notre Dame - Viry-Ch\u00e2tillon (91)&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 - Identify a problem: \u00abThere are too many fights in the yard\u00bb.\u00bb<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>\u00abFirst we took a big long view to look for all the problems!\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><br><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the \"Builders of Possibilities\" method, the kindergarteners identified several issues that challenge them in their daily lives at school. After a vote by the whole class, the pupils chose to focus on the problem of fighting in the playground.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 - Finding a solution: less individual play and more cooperation<br><br><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Several avenues were explored to solve this problem. Firstly, by pooling their feelings, the students identified bicycles, scooters and other individual games as being regularly at the heart of fights. An initial solution was to remove the games. The experiment proved inconclusive: <strong><em>\u00ab<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>The first day was okay, but the second was not. And on the third, there were still fights.\u00bb&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This was followed by other experiments and proposals: create a \u00ab\u00c7a m'\u00e9nerve\u00bb museum with drawings of everything that annoys students on the playground, put each student in an individual cardboard box (to prevent them from getting into fights), fill the playground like a ball pool, make a bank of games...&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/capture-decran-2024-07-25-a-162922.png\" class=\"wp-image-37869\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"docs-internal-guid-d60a7d06-7fff-9b99-3c2b-f2f0ca59c45d\" style=\"font-weight:normal;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(102, 102, 102); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-position: normal; vertical-align: baseline;\">3 <\/span><\/span>- Make it happen: learn team games<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, the chosen solution was to learn collaborative team games.<strong><em> \u00abWe asked our parents to teach us team games.\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A problem and a solution that appealed to the students in the other classes to whom the project was presented: <strong><em>\u00abI think it's a very good idea because fighting is dangerous.\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Art-c\u00e8lement - Fighting bullying at school<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Anne-Lore Greter-Traor\u00e9's CM1 class, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyceemermozdakar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lyc\u00e9e Jean Mermoz<\/a> - Dakar (Senegal)<br><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 - Identifying a problem: bullying at school<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The CM1 students identified harassment as a major problem. However, the notion of harassment had to be clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 - Finding a solution: a step with many obstacles<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>School bullying is a vast and very sensitive subject; the group had a lot of hang-ups. So the class turned to mediators for help. Working with experts in the field, the students identified the \u00ab<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>four words of harassment<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>\u00bbViolence, repetition, consequences and the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>\u00abWe did an experiment: we crumpled up some paper, put it under a dictionary and went on vacation. When we came back, the paper was still crumpled, if a little less so. It just goes to show that harassment has long-term consequences.\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><br><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 - Producing this solution: an exhibition <strong>\u00ab<em> <\/em><\/strong>Art-c\u00e8lement<strong><em> <\/em>\u00bb<\/strong> and a riser bar<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the solutions found, the CM1 class chose two: to set up an exhibition on this subject in the school, with a presentation to other classes, and to create a prototype of the \u00ab<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>rising bar<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>\u00bbIn other words, a barometer assessing the victim's level of resentment and the sanction proposed in return. The class was able to exchange ideas with another CM1 class from the B\u00e2tisseurs de Possibles network, in the Jura region, and gather feedback from the rising bar test. As a result, Anne-Lore's pupils adapted their rising bar before proposing it to the rest of the school.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/etape-3-barre-montante-1024x462-1.jpg\" alt=\"Anne-Lore Greter-Traor\u00e9&#039;s class - Builders of Possibilities \" class=\"wp-image-37887\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>\u00abAt first, it was hard to figure out what harassment was and find solutions, but today we're happy to share this with you.\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the exchanges sparked by this presentation, we note the observation made by the students among themselves:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>\u00abWhy is it that when we go to adults to stop being picked on, sometimes the others keep going?\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u00abBecause sometimes adults don't pay enough attention.\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promoting well-being at school<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Chrystelle NINOT's CM1 class at Louis Robert school - Coulommiers (77)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 - Identifying a problem: bullying at school<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>A few thousand kilometers from Anne-Lore Greter Traor\u00e9's class, Chrystelle Ninot's CM1 pupils have also chosen to fight against bullying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their observation: in general, stalkers feel bad about themselves. They need to feel stronger than others because they lack self-confidence. Stalkers need even more support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students reported on a key episode in their approach to the problem of harassment: a meeting with a schoolgirl who agreed to testify as a victim of harassment. <strong><em>\u00abWe were very touched.\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 - Find a solution: a place where \u00ab<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>blow \u00bb<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>After discussion, the students imagined a place where the children could take a breather, a place where they felt at ease.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 - Realize this solution: le Coin de Paradis<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Using drawings and sketches created together, the students created a wellness area in the courtyard. Le Coin de Paradis\u00ab is accessible by means of a badge.\u00ab<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>Responsible\u00bb, which indicates that the student wearing it is committed to the principles of tolerance and respect. In this Paradise Corner, you'll find coloring pages, books, a space for discussion and exchange, etc...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spontaneous reaction in one of the other classes present at the project presentation:<strong><em> \u00abMe, I'd love to have a piece of paradise!...\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reducing the number of toys<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ramona Coupel-Dulgheru's CP class from the\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C3%89ducation_nouvelle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new school<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emiliebrandt.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emilie Brandt<\/a> - Levallois Perret (92)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 - Identify a problem: too much waste<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The problems identified by the first-grade pupils - the Curionautes - are numerous: garbage, cigarette butts, rats, war, cut-down trees, etc. After using the Snowball method, they decided to work together to combat the problem of too much garbage. More specifically, they went to the heart of the problem and determined that one of the sources of the problem was the large number of toys they each had in their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 &amp; 3 - Finding a solution and applying it: new toys... but already in use<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>To combat toy waste while discovering new games, the students organized a toy swap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u00abTo build the world we do good to the Earth<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>With Les B\u00e2tisseurs, we do our part<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>We're learning that we're never too small to change the world<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>If you feel you're too small, think of the mosquito that manages to annoy and bite you!\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>Curionautes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helping people - including migrants - who live on the streets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ramona Coupel-Dulgheru's CM2 class at \u00c9cole Nouvelle Emilie Brandt - Levallois Perret (92)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/c125610-1024x576-1.jpg\" alt=\"Ramona Coupel-Dulgheru&#039;s class - Builders of Possibilities\" class=\"wp-image-37897\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 - Identifying a problem: different types of poverty<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the Snowball method, the CM2 class, which has renamed itself the \u00abSNCF class<strong> <\/strong>\u00bb(\"Connecteurs Fut\u00e9s\" Digital Scientists) voted to discuss the topic of poverty. Together, they conducted a survey on the different types of poverty. The issues raised were: how can we help schools in Madagascar? How can we help SOS M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, how can we help migrants coming from war? How can we reduce hunger? The issue finally chosen by the students was <em>\u00abHow can we help migrants and people living on the streets?<strong> <\/strong>\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 - Find a solution: 7 solution categories<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The 5th graders came up with a whole host of ideas, classifying them into seven categories: sales, parties, events, collections, donations, associations and face-to-face. Of these categories, the group chose to focus on fundraising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 - Implementing this solution: awareness-raising and collection<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking advantage of the end-of-year fair, the students displayed panels on the subject to raise public awareness of their problem. At the end of the exhibition, there was a donation box to collect money. This money was then divided between students, each of whom was responsible for distributing envelopes - each containing 20 euros and a note - to people living on the streets.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Class to class question<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u00abWhat made you want to work on migrants and poverty?\u00bb&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u00abBecause some people saw people in the street outside their homes and were touched by it.<\/em><\/strong> \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A big well done to the classes who presented their projects on July 2, and who made the meeting a moment of spontaneous sharing and exchange!
