Paris, 10\/07\/2025 - In December 2024, at the request of the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research, Fran\u00e7ois Taddei<\/a> - founder and president of the Learning Planet Institute - was entrusted, along with Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pascal<\/a> - director of the DataIA institute<\/a> and Vice President IA of\u2019Paris-Saclay University<\/a> - a strategic mission dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) within public higher education establishments<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of this approach lies a democratic challenge:  How can we ensure that AI does not widen inequalities, but instead becomes a lever for inclusion, pedagogical transformation and collective creativity? How can we rethink the university to make it a central player in the critical, shared and enlightened appropriation of these new tools?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six months later, the report entitled \u00abAI and higher education: Training, structuring and appropriation by society\u00bb.\u00bb<\/a><\/em>*, <\/strong>draws up a lucid report and proposes structuring actions to ensure that higher education becomes a central player in the learning society of the AI era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six levers for action are mentioned:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Pool resources (infrastructure, content, best practices) to limit inequalities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Massive training for all players (students, teachers, staff) in and with AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Encourage appropriation through action research, experimentation and ongoing training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Transforming higher education institutions by leveraging AI to foster inclusion, democracy and innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Developing a sovereign infrastructure (datacenters<\/em>, European models, interoperable).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Support a coherent national policy, with the creation of a national \u00abAI, education and society\u00bb institute.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The results of the IA and higher education mission, together with the correlated report, were presented on July 10, 2025, at the French Ministry of Education.<\/strong>, in the presence of Elisabeth Borne, Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Research, and Philippe Baptiste, Minister of Higher Education and Research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
