{"id":728,"date":"2021-09-13T08:10:44","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T06:10:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lpinstitute.dev.onpressidium.com\/news\/613f242b5ef620fcaaf26df5\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T19:09:32","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T18:09:32","slug":"lunitar-presents-a-day-celebrating-the-future-of-youth-in-asia-pacific","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/en\/news\/lunitar-presente-une-journee-celebrant-lavenir-de-la-jeunesse-en-asie-pacifique\/","title":{"rendered":"UNITAR presents : A day celebrating the future of youth in Asia-Pacific"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, September 18, 2021, the\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/unitar.org\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">UNITAR<\/a>, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itseducation.asia\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ITS Education Asia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidsforsdgs.org\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">KIDsforSDGs<\/a>, will be holding a free public webinar to celebrate the launch of the <a href=\"https:\/\/unitar.org\/sustainable-development-goals\/prosperity\/our-portfolio\/leadership-and-empowerment\/unitar-youth-ambassador-asia-pacific-programme#:~:text=Launched%20in%202021%2C%20the%20UNITAR,from%20the%20COVID%2D19%20pandemic.\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">UNITAR Young Ambassadors Program in Asia<\/a> September 25, 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/unitar-org.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_Th6RW6FgTD-K4S6vYLXkiA.\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Register here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"the-seminar-will-comprise-of-panel-discussions\">The seminar will include panel discussions:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Panel 1: Accelerating change among young people through the UN SDGs<\/li>\n<li>Panel 2: Developing student agency: Asia's best case studies<\/li>\n<li>Panel 3: Defining the role of youth ambassador: Building the next generation of global citizens<\/li>\n<li>Youth Panel: Accelerating local innovation to advance the UN's SDGs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"about-the-unitar-youth-ambassador-asia-pacific-programme\">About the UNITAR Young Ambassadors Program for Asia-Pacific :<\/h3>\n<p>Launched in 2021, the UNITAR Young Ambassadors Program for Asia-Pacific aims to empower high school students in Hong Kong and various cities in China, as well as other Asia-Pacific countries, to help our world be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/development\/desa\/dspd\/2020\/10\/covid-19-inequalities-and-building-back-better\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">raise<\/a> of the COVID-19 pandemic, only better, greener and stronger.<\/p>\n<p>For 10 weeks, UNITAR's Young Ambassadors will learn from local and international experts about the most pressing issues affecting global recovery. They will discuss youth-led leadership <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><div><\/div><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sustainable development goals<\/a> (SDGs), digital transformation and innovation, youth employment, youth entrepreneurship for sustainable development, and social and climate justice.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/unitar.org\/prosperity\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">UNITAR Prosperity Division<\/a> has long been committed to inspiring young people to embrace sustainable development. Since 2010, La Prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 - through its <a href=\"https:\/\/unitar.org\/hiroshima\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Hiroshima office<\/a> - manages <a href=\"https:\/\/unitar.org\/sustainable-development-goals\/prosperity\/our-portfolio\/leadership-and-empowerment\/unitar-youth-ambassador-programme\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">UNITAR Young Ambassadors program in Hiroshima<\/a> for high school students in Japan's City of Peace. This program is one of UNITAR Prosperity\/Hiroshima's most important commitments to the local community and its inhabitants.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to a partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itseducation.asia\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ITS Education Asia<\/a>, UNITAR's Young Ambassadors Program for Asia-Pacific expands the Hiroshima program to reach young people in a wider region.
