CRI also got involved to celebrate this 30th edition! Around the theme \u00abThe thrill of discovery\u00bb, CRI teams offered a program of workshops, round-table discussions and diverse, engaging activities for young and old alike.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"comp%C3%A9tition-%C3%A0-hautes-voix\">Loud competition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Falling Wall Labs and the research co-laboratory opened this celebration with a pitch competition: 3 minutes to present a discovery, an idea that will revolutionize a problem. Students, researchers and young professionals all got in on the action as they tried to make it to the world finals. <a href=\"https:\/\/falling-walls.com\/lab\/apply\/filters\/2021\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><u>Pitch Contest - Falling Walls Lab<\/u><\/a> (Berlin, November 7, 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A big congratulations to the 3 finalists of the FRANCE competition and to the winner who will go to Berlin this year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Winner : Simon Bernard, founder and CEO of Plastic Odyssey - <em>Breaking the Wall of Ocean Plastic Pollution<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gurleen Kaur, post-doc researcher at IPVF (Institut Photovolta\u00efque d'\u00cele-de-France) - <em>Breaking the wall of eco-friendly &amp; biodegradable Photovoltaic<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dewanti Cahyaningsih, PhD student at the University of Limoges - France <em>Breaking the Wall of Elderly Poverty<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"explorer-les-%C3%A9motions-de-la-recherche\"><strong>Exploring the emotions of research<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For 10 days, participants and speakers at CRI's F\u00eate de la Science explored the emotions of research and discovery. How do our emotions affect research? How do certain discoveries influence our emotions? Living Campus tackled two important questions on these themes through the round table \u00ab <em>Do researchers' emotions about their discoveries influence their research?<\/em> \u00bband the\u00ab <em>Discovering changes in our environment, solastalgia and eco-anxiety<\/em> \u00bbThis was a chance for participants to share their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image kg-card kg-image-card\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/1aaf552e-f3e7-46b4-83e2-1ffd68f4310f.png\" class=\"wp-image-511\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"lunivers-des-sciences-par-le-jeu\"><strong>The world of science through play<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gathered around playful activities, participants and presenters of Savanturiers - \u00c9cole de la recherche activities exchanged views on subjects as interesting as they were varied. \u00ab <em>The incomplete fresco<\/em> \u00bbAn escape game in the style of an archaeological dig, it revealed the secrets and discoveries of 15 hitherto little-known women scientists.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image kg-card kg-image-card\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/3ac1241b-a8b8-4467-883a-3bbfe8716537.png\" class=\"wp-image-512\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Immersed in urban biodiversity and ecosystems, participants in the \u00ab <em>Biopirates - discovering urban biodiversity!<\/em> \u00bbThey were able to appreciate the delicate balance behind these concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image kg-card kg-image-card\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/b8d6b516-5eb2-4fd4-9548-1cdd108afba0.png\" class=\"wp-image-513\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"exp%C3%A9rimentation-et-manipulation\"><strong>Experimentation and manipulation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Using biotechnologies to meet the socio-ecological challenges of our century? This is the idea behind principles such as spherification, used notably in molecular cuisine. Participants were able to experiment with this concept in the \u00abSpherification\" scientific manipulation workshop.\u00ab <em>Encapsulation - Discovering biotechnologies<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image kg-card kg-image-card\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/5e571d88-c62d-420d-b9f2-f1ddf18a3358.png\" class=\"wp-image-514\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"des-petits-aux-tr%C3%A8s-grands\"><strong>From small to very large<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With the Premiers Cris early childhood research co-laboratory, the youngest children set off to discover their emotions through their 5 senses, memories and games: workshops <em>\u00abDiscovering emotions! What do we feel when we discover?\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image kg-card kg-image-card\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/73e28daa-4d2a-4660-b500-a57108c0fb14.png\" class=\"wp-image-515\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The older children discussed the emotions that can emerge from the learning process. Stories of experience : <em>\u00abDiscovering emotions! What do we feel when we learn?\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image kg-card kg-image-card\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.learningplanetinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/8970519b-8c37-4042-88e7-abc173a208b2.png\" class=\"wp-image-516\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>10 days, 60 events and 2,000 visitors<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The F\u00eate de la Science 2021 at the Universit\u00e9 de Paris and CRI was 10 days and some 60 events.
