This series brings together three case studies, followed by three step-by-step tutorials (see Supplemental Info for each article). Visit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/journals\/advances-in-archaeological-practice\/article\/agentbased-modeling-for-archaeologists-part-1-of-3\/B044D059FABC3F793205C6407BF32B09\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><u>first article<\/u><\/a><\/strong> presents the reasons why someone studying the past would want to use agent-based modeling. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/journals\/advances-in-archaeological-practice\/article\/combining-geographic-information-systems-and-agentbased-models-in-archaeology-part-2-of-3\/135164D59D35ADED96F2D43462466E41\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><u>second article<\/u><\/a><\/strong> shows how to incorporate realistic spatial data into a model. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/journals\/advances-in-archaeological-practice\/article\/outreach-in-archaeology-with-agentbased-modeling-part-3-of-3\/CF17C24826753D58A882333AA565B7AE\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><u>third article<\/u><\/a><\/strong> explores how agent-based modeling can be useful for advocacy, policy-making and teaching. The series aims to help those interested in integrating computational modeling approaches into their research. Although the tutorials focus on archaeology, the articles refer to interdisciplinary research and literature.
