From Thought to Action: The Influence of Our Worldviews on Education and Science
The way educators think about knowledge, science and values profoundly shapes their teaching approaches, influencing not only what is taught but how it is received. This session explores how perspectives impact educational practices, from the language we use to the emotions we bring into the classroom. When education is reduced to a purely scientific approach, it risks becoming a mere transfer of information, overlooking the learner’s individual trajectory. Likewise, a trainer’s emotional outlook, whether a pessimism or optimism perspective about social change, can set the tone for how students engage with complex issues. By recognizing these underlying influences, we can create learning environments that foster critical thinking, adaptability, and meaningful engagement, ensuring that education serves as a catalyst for social transformation rather than a passive transmission of knowledge.
