Childhoods from the territory: quilombo, ancestry, and memory
Childhood is often treated as something we leave behind when we grow up. This event invites us to rethink childhood through territory and memory, using the idea of the quilombos.
Quilombos were communities created by Black people in Brazil who escaped slavery and built safe and supportive spaces together. Through art and memory, the event offers a decolonial perspective on childhood and explores questions of migration, access to education, and social inclusion.
See you on Friday 23 january at the Learning Planet Institute!
