R&D Unplugged #10 - discover our research

Join us for R&D Unplugged #10 with Maria Angelica Mejia Caceres

From thought to action: The influence of our worldviews on education and science

The way educators think about knowledge, science and values profoundly shapes their pedagogical approaches, influencing not only what is taught but also how it is received. This session explores the impact of perspectives on educational practices, from the language we use to the emotions we bring to the classroom. When education is reduced to a purely scientific approach, it risks becoming a mere transfer of information, neglecting the learner's individual trajectory. Similarly, a trainer's emotional perspective, whether pessimistic or optimistic about social change, can set the tone for how students approach complex issues. By recognizing these underlying influences, we can create learning environments that foster critical thinking, adaptability and meaningful engagement, ensuring that education serves as a catalyst for social transformation rather than a passive transmission of knowledge.
