For this conference on “Education Beyond the Human”, we had the pleasure of chatting with Iveta Silova, Professor and Associate Dean of Global Engagement at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, and Senior Global Futures Scholar at the Global Futures Lab, @arizonastateuniversity .Find out more about the topic covered in this recorded conference:We are living in a moment of epochal precariousness, in the midst of an irreversible environmental catastrophe that is having an impact on all life on Earth. A sign of the end of human exceptionalism, this epoch calls for an urgent redefinition of what it means to be human, and a reconfiguration of the relationship between man and Earth. How should education respond to a world where planetary boundaries are shifting, ecosystems are collapsing and visions are emerging? What educational policies, practices and pedagogies can contribute to resituating the human in the relational flow of life, where everything and everyone - human and non-human - is profoundly interconnected? How can we learn to encounter responsibly and engage fully in a more-than-human world?
