In our daily lives, exposure to chemicals is widespread: we use them, breathe them, ingest them. Products classified as endocrine disruptors are of particular concern. As far as they are concerned, it's not «the dose that makes the poison», since they are deleterious at very low doses and above all at key moments in human development, when the brain is developing.
A study involving several European research teams, a rare model of collaborative, translational research, has shown that the risk of language delay is tripled in children heavily exposed to a mixture of endocrine disruptors before birth. The famous «cocktail effect». An incentive to drastically reduce our exposure to EPs, protecting pregnant women and young children in particular, so that their brains develop harmoniously.
