We will be hosting a learning laboratory for future on the theme “Learning for global citizenship and anticipatory governance”, led by UNESCO's Future Literacy Lab, in collaboration with Arizona State University and UNESCO's Bridges Coalition. The Future Literacy Lab is part of UNESCO's visit by a cohort of Arizona State University (ASU) students to the Institute for Global Learning.
What is a learning laboratory of the future? A Future Learning Laboratory (FLL) is an innovative participatory learning-by-doing process designed to help participants examine how they imagine the future, and uncover the hidden assumptions that shape their perspectives. Through collective exploration and dialogue, FLLs encourage the’literacy for the future, a capabilities-based approach to the future, which uses the power of our imagination to break away from dominant narratives or constraints and envisage new possibilities for action.
