Our R&D extends from research to practical applications that have an impact on education and learning, and ultimately benefit the planet.
At the Learning Planet Institute, researchers are surrounded by a wide range of players, from industry to associations and foundations, as well as a large international community. This is particularly interesting
No one has the same background, but everyone has a lot to contribute. We discover things we didn't even know existed. Everyone makes an effort to explain their work to others. The Learning Planet Institute offers this interface where everyone can exchange ideas, benefit from a more holistic vision and grow, while contributing to the growth of others.
My most vivid memory is of the group discussions (...). I realised the extent to which our different backgrounds conditioned us to think about the world's problems (...) within a certain framework, and the wealth we all had to gain from sharing (...). I think that these exchanges were crucial in the formulation of my research questions.
I said when I was 20 that the only job I didn't want to do was to be a researcher... We all change our minds! (...) You don't have to follow a straight path to become a researcher these days.
What I love is the great freedom given to students. There's always support to help us put our ideas into practice, even the most innovative ones, with an open heart and without judgement (...) The LPI offers a truly international, interdisciplinary and creative outlook. All the thesis topics focus on ecological and social issues. I finally feel like I belong.
The approach at Learning Planet Institute is less traditional, more mixed, with more interdisciplinarity. In the same place, there are teachers, researchers and students.
