The LearningPlanet Festival is back!
21-28 January, 2026
Launched in 2020 by the Learning Planet Institute in partnership with UNESCO, the LearningPlanet Festival has been organised each January to celebrate the International Day of Education (24th January), bringing together hundreds of thousands of participants from 193 countries. Over the years, it has become a shared space for dialogue and action, where youth, educators, innovators, policymakers, researchers, and changemakers come together to reimagine education and take steps towards learning to take care of oneself, others, and the planet.
In 2026, the festival returns for its 7th edition, from 21-28 January 2026, as part of a growing global movement to reimagine education in the 21st century.
The LearningPlanet Festival takes place in a decentralised and globally distributed manner, with online, on-site, and hybrid events to shape the future of learning.
The Festival de l’Apprendre – the French edition of the LearningPlanet Festival – is rooted in local territories, with partnerships across cities and regions in France.
Two special days at the Learning Planet Institute
The 2026 edition promises to be rich in discussions and collaborations around the world, not least at the Learning Planet Institute in Paris, for two exceptional days of celebration on 21 and 22 January 2026!
January 21, 2026 — a day dedicated to research
This event will bring together researchers from around the world to discuss three major issues: peace, democracy and artificial intelligence. It will be a unique opportunity for academic leaders to explore, reflect and exchange ideas.
January 22, 2026 — an exceptional day in 3 stages
Join us for an exceptional day of collaboration, panels and workshops! The Festival at the Institute will be an opportunity to celebrate our association’s 20th anniversary and announce the official launch of the Learning Planet Academy!
