Institut des Défis
(The Institute of challenges)
Co-founded in 2020 by the Learning Planet Institute and Université Paris Cité, the Institut des Défis (IDD) designs new teaching and educational approaches to encourage collective commitment to environmental and societal issues.
Its mission is to support the transformation of the university by facilitating interaction between the university, the city and civil society in order to provide alternative solutions to contemporary challenges.
This programme – part of the Initiatives d’Excellence Université Paris Cité – has already initiated several projects based on the Learning Planet Institute’s emblematic expertise, methodology, tools and environment.
Adapting the strategy of Université Paris Cité, the Institut des Défis also aims at creating places where researchers and citizens can meet. The IDD now integrates a new territorial and local dimension. Various IDD programmes are thus designed to be integrated to community projects, in order to take action for and with citizens and local decision-makers.
