The Health & Care Lab, in collaboration with the Groupement de Recherche PET Care, organizes the first edition of the“Care symposium”which will take place at the’ University of Montpellier and online, from November 22-26, 2021.
The Health & Care Lab, an interdisciplinary health research program developed at the CRI and coordinated by Cloé Brami, an oncologist and PhD researcher, has made this symposium a place for dialogue between researchers from several disciplines (literary and artistic studies, education sciences, medicine, psychology, etc.) and practitioners (teachers, trainers, carers, but also all interested professionals) on the interactions between care, education and ecology.
Visit care, Care, a word of English origin, refers to the ability to take care of others, not only physically, but also morally, socially and ethically. The ambition of this international symposium is to open a theoretical and practical dialogue on the potential of care ethics and philosophies to enrich educational practices in a context of ecological transition. The organizers also wish to conduct a reflexive analysis of research, education and training experiences conducted at local and national levels, along with other initiatives at international level (Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain, Tunisia, USA, UK, Chile, Canada).
Workshop and round-table formats will be favored to ensure the best possible dynamic between theory and practice.

MOOC Meditation and medicine in 2021: praise for care?
How can we take care of ourselves in order to take care of others, at a time when the mental health of caregivers is being challenged and the hospital system is being shaken? How can we move from a culture of bandaging to a culture of care that nurtures living resources? How can we nurture a sense of care, particularly in medicine, both individually and collectively?
The Health & Care Lab team went out to meet students, caregivers, philosophers, teachers, care managers, university presidents, engineers, chaplains, meditators, researchers and artists to try to answer these questions.
Release of the MOOC on February 10, 2022

Health & Care Lab's mindfulness meditation program
Cloé Brami's research focuses on the training of medical students, with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity and the philosophy of care. Coming from a background combining science as a physician (oncologist) and contemplative science as a teacher of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), she is keen to explore and develop further pedagogical skills for health education.
For example, she proposes integrating mindfulness meditation, and in particular the concepts of stress and anxiety management, into the curriculum of medical students.
