As the new school year begins in 2022, we are pleased to announce the resumption of the Builders of Possibilities by the Learning Planet Institute.
French adaptation of the international movement Design for Change, Bâtisseurs de Possibles was born in 2012 within the Synlab. This program contributes to the transformation of the education system and to the construction of a learning society for a more sustainable world: it is therefore fully in line with our strategy and strengthens the youth action of our Institute.
Bâtisseurs de Possibles is aimed at education professionals and students from kindergarten to college and aims to enable them to carry out interdisciplinary and civic-minded projects, thus contributing to one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Over 800 teachers and more than 6,000 children have already taken part!
The "Bâtisseurs de possibles" program is organized around :
- specific support for teachers as they undergo a fundamental change of attitude,
- training in 4 key stages of the approach, largely inspired by design thinking - identify, imagine, realize and share
- educational tools and resources,
- a network of teachers in France who promote teaching approaches and practices that enable their students to play an active role in their learning, their lives and society,
- a global network of Design For Change change agents in 68 countries.
The Design for Change movement was founded in India in 2009 by Kiran Bir Sethi, designer and educator, and a long-standing partner of the Learning Planet Institute and the LearningPlanet Alliance. By asserting that children of all ages are committed actors and bearers of solutions, Design for Change invites students to question their direct environment and the solutions they can provide on their own scale, and which resonate on a global scale.
The partnership between SynLab and the Learning Planet Institute has existed for many years, and has taken many forms, including a university diploma called “The Learning Planet Institute".“Players in the educational transition“. This new step only strengthens our historic ties.
The Learning Planet Institute will do its utmost to continue the work undertaken by SynLab, in particular by coordinating the project within its network of players and ambassadors, and by promoting Bâtisseurs de Possibles throughout France and internationally. Within the Institute, the program will continue to develop in an ecosystem that is keen to promote the skills needed to become an agent of change. SynLab will continue to support and encourage this project.
