About Youth Empowerment Circle

A #LearningPlanet Circle is a group of organizations/communities committed to thematic and/or regional priorities. Circles are conceived as privileged spaces for advancing dialogue between very diverse actors (institutions, educators, social entrepreneurs, committed citizens and young people...) working for the same cause (in this case, the’youth empowerment), and to create and/or support high-impact projects.

The idea of creating a Cercle dedicated to youth emerged following the publication of the report “A future for the world's children?” in February 2020 by the WHO-UNICEF-Lancet Commission, which paints an alarming picture of the growing threats to young people's health. To address these issues, the Commission has launched the CAP 2030 (Children in All Policies 2030) in May 2021, for which CRI and #LearningPlanet have become key partners in France and internationally. Also in May, the “Catalysing Change Week” organized by Catalyst 2030 hosted the two international launch sessions of the Youth Empowerment Circle. For full details of the international Cercle, go to Dedicated project page (in English).

Visit Cercle Youth Empowerment Francophonie is the French-language version of this Circle, which focuses on youth empowerment at a more local level (France and French-speaking countries), and in French, in partnership with CAP 2030, the City of Paris and Ashoka France. The inaugural session of this French-speaking Circle took place on July 2, 2021, on the occasion of the’Assembly #LearningPlanet.
