The official unveiling of the Pavillon France visitor route was attended by over 80 French and international media, and 500 sponsors and other stakeholders.

Mapping knowledge with CRI

As part of its permanent exhibition, partly dedicated to the «Galaxy of tomorrow's world», the Pavillon France will host the Planet Education (or Learning Planet), designed in partnership with the CRI.

Inspired by WeLearn, the knowledge GPS developed by CRI's AI teams on the basis of Wikipedia, Planet Education will take visitors on a journey into the infinite space of knowledge. Antoine de Saint Exupéry's Little Prince, whose talents as an explorer are known the world over, will accompany visitors on a brief discovery of this rapidly expanding planet. During this an imaginary and poetic journey projected onto a suspended planisphere, everyone can become aware of the world's innumerable connections between disciplines (arts, science, technology, etc.) and cultures. This unique experience will also open up vast horizons for the future of education, as The Little Prince has a knack for asking questions that leave a lasting impression!

Beyond the immersive, brief and sensational experience, interested visitors will be invited to delve deeper online into topics related to new ways of learning in the 21st century, AI and collective intelligence, participatory science and more.

The French Pavilion

Below is an extract from the official press release, written by Jean-Yves Le Drian, French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The Dubai World Expo - the largest global gathering of the year - will run from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. Under the theme “Connecting minds, creating the future”, the 2021 edition calls for synergies between political, scientific, architectural, artistic, economic and other players.

Putting scientific and technical innovation at the service of human progress: this has been the ambition of France since the Age of Enlightenment. Faced with the current pandemic crisis, as well as the challenges of the ecological transition, new forms of mobility and the digital revolution, this ambition now takes on a new meaning and a new urgency. That's why we wanted to place the French Pavilion at the Dubai World Expo under the banner of these 21st-century lights.

Our Pavilion will also showcase the wealth of our tourism, gastronomic and cultural assets, thanks in particular to a varied program of events which, throughout the six months of the Exhibition, will offer the public a glimpse of our country's heritage and know-how of excellence.

The Pavillon's visitor pathway is organized into several areas, each offering a different stage in the process of reinventing our present and building our future. The French Pavilion has designed its visitor experience in two parts:

  1. Visitor routes
  2. Event-driven programming

France at the Dubai World Expo aims to showcase its expertise on the international stage. The aim of the Pavilion at the Dubai World Expo is to demonstrate France's commitment to building the future through political, economic, cultural and social initiatives and actions. The French partners, stakeholders and talents featured on the French Pavilion will express their commitment to building a sustainable society, enabling France to defend its new vision of responsible progress.
