How to be a scientist at the service of society?
Since the start of the epidemic, the Savanturiers co-laboratory has already produced 40 rigorous and creative scientific activities and challenges for students and classes, which can be used by students independently, with their families or in the classroom. This scientific and educational community has thus helped to ensure a continuity of learning that is particularly beneficial to students with the least support.
The Université numérique de l'éducation, which is aimed at all educators, parents and professionals alike, is part of the same ambition: to provide educators and young people with tools for reflection and action, co-developed with scientists.
After homeschooling from the parents' point of view, the session on Wednesday June 3 will be devoted to the action-research project Home Stress Home designed at the University of Mons (Belgium) by Justine Gaugue, Professor, Head of the Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology Department, Laurence Ris, Professor of Neurophysiology, Head of the Neuroscience Department, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and Mandy Rossignol, Professor of Neuropsychology and Psychopathology, Cognitive Psychology and Neuropsychology Department.
The Home Stress Home platform is aimed directly at children, teenagers and young adults aged 3 to 25, who can follow a 3-step process (I'm informed, I'm tested, I take care of myself) to understand, assess and remedy their stress. In addition to providing support, this is also a participatory science project: confidential survey data will enable researchers to gain a better understanding of the development of anxiety, so as to improve future management in all contexts.
To take part in this session, which is open to all, we invite you to join us on Wednesday June 3 at 7 p.m. on our channel YoutubeLive or our FacebookLive.
The Savanturiers co-laboratory from kindergarten to high school will also continue at the start of the new school year in September 2020, as the calls for class projects will be published the week of June 22! What field of investigation will you be tackling with your students this September? The sociology of epidemiology? Climatological data processing? The Smart City? A dive into the history of school architecture? You can start preparing your projects now!
