Schools facing the Anthropocene challenge
Since the beginning of the health crisis, we have published 14 #FlashInfos thanks to the exceptional mobilization of the educational and scientific community that makes up the fabric and identity of Savanturiers - École de la recherche, always faithful to our mission: to explore, share and commit to education.
This latest edition of Flash Info marks the end of the first cycle of the Digital University of Education, with a final session devoted to the home school galaxy. “Home schooling”, “pedagogical continuity”, “individualized mentoring” - these are just some of the new terms that have invaded the discourse on schools, suggesting an unprecedented porosity between the institution and family and social practices. To deconstruct this myth and recontextualize hypothetical school reconfigurations due to health confinement, on Wednesday June 24 we welcome Philippe Bongrand, a lecturer in education at CY Cergy Paris Université, and Pauline Proboeuf, a doctoral student in sociology at the Observatoire Sociologique du Changement, Sciences Po Paris. This session will explore the different forms of delegation, circumvention, resistance and evolution of the school form. Join us live at 7pm on Youtube Live or Facebook Live.
With this latest edition of #FlashInfo, we're also publishing a final series of scientific games and activities. Tens of thousands of you have benefited from the dozens of scientific contents created thanks to the collaboration between Savanturiers students, researchers, engineers and teachers. You can find all this content on the Savanturiers website, as well as other content on Sciences en Live, the digital portal where the world of research meets the general public.
If there's one thing we'll take away from this extraordinary adventure, it's the strength of collaboration based on academic and professional knowledge and expertise to meet the challenges of any crisis. The challenges of the Anthropocene have not wavered. From the start of the new school year in September 2020, Savanturiers - École de la recherche will be remobilizing in classrooms, laboratories, recess courses, summer camps, universities and webinars to reinforce the role of the École in this planetary construction site. We're postponing the Summer School “L'École au défi de l'Anthropocène” to July 2021 and repositioning the coming school year under the banner of “Education and the Anthropocene”.
In the meantime, here are the next appointments:
- Wednesday June 24 for the webinar “Finding your way in the homeschool galaxy”.”
- Friday, June 26 for the publication of the “Evaluating in times of crisis” dossier”
- week of June 29 for publication of calls for projects and mentors
- Friday, July 3 for the publication of the dossier “Finding your way in the home school galaxy”.”
