Context
Since September 2013, Savanturiers - École de la recherche has been mobilizing and federating educational and scientific communities to co-create and innovate for the benefit of schools.
Together, we are developing the "education through research" model through three activities:
- Savanturiers projects in and around nursery, primary and secondary schools,
- digital educational research and experimentation savanturiers
- training and professional development for education professionals.
Supported by the Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires, this scheme is based on a dual premise: research can be a model for creative, rigorous, collaborative learning that develops students' critical thinking and creativity; and laboratory life can be a model for cooperation between teachers and for their professional development.
«The professional identity of the teacher-researcher»
This Summer University will bring together all those who share and nurture the values of education through research, to reflect together on changes in our relationship to knowledge and its transmission. Capitalizing on each other's experiences, exchanging and self-training through conferences, roundtables, workshops and training sessions will be the watchwords of the event.
These three days will focus on the evolution of the professional identity of the pedagogue-researcher implementing education through research. Each participant will take part in identifying and formalizing the practices, postures, professional gestures and skills of the pedagogue-researcher.
The teacher as designer is at the heart of the education-through-research approach: he or she is the one who creates evolving classroom situations, who has a mental library of contexts and solutions that can be mobilized in the here and now of the classroom. The infinite number of classroom configurations, obstacles and challenges that can arise from them, by their very nature, define the teaching profession not as one of execution, but one of expertise, design and research.
A ‘pedagogue-researcher’ is therefore a teacher who engages in a research process to 1) diagnose a problematic educational situation, 2) base his or her thinking on the scientific literature/research conducted in the educational sciences, 3) mobilize a network of researchers, practitioners, etc., to identify gestures, tools, methods, etc., adapted to the problematic educational situation, 4) test, adapt or validate the solutions identified to deal with the problematic educational situation, 5) then share his or her results with others. 4) test, adapt or validate the solutions identified to deal with the problematic educational situation, 5) then share the results with the entire educational/research community concerned.
