The Learning Planet Institute launches its first Meaningful Open Opportunities for Discovery (MOOD) program, “In the MOOD for Climate Action”, on June 9. Focusing on climate change and sustainable development, this four-week pilot program, fully funded by the Learning Planet Institute, gives students the opportunity to tackle global challenges through hands-on projects and socio-emotional skills training. Applications are now open.
The Learning Planet Institute is committed to helping students better understand and address societal challenges in a rapidly changing world, using scalable experiential learning approaches. MOOD is one such approach. Created by the Institute, as part of a United Nations campus for youth education, MOODs are immersive, certified learning journeys during which students aged 18 to 25 explore their raison d'être while tackling global challenges through hands-on projects and acquiring socio-emotional skills. Through simulation and reflection, students explore their own values and goals, and learn to balance personal needs with real-world issues.
