What is this guide for?
This guide has been designed by Nesta to help you design and implement a collective intelligence project. It will help you understand how to harness the best ideas, information and knowledge (i.e. intelligence) to solve a complex problem. It will introduce you to the activities you can use to orchestrate diverse groups of people, data and technologies to achieve your goals. This is what we call collective intelligence design. We consider it the common sense of the 21st century.
Who is it for?
We've created this handbook for innovators around the world who are tackling complex problems. You may work in an international organization, a public institution, a company or a non-profit organization. You're probably familiar with other approaches to innovation, and you may already have used some of the methods presented in this manual. But chances are you're still struggling with slow or non-existent progress on a major social, environmental, economic or political issue. You know you need to find new ideas, more effective solutions and create new collaborative approaches to bring about real change.
