This online training is designed to help you design and implement an engineering project with your learners, based on the Education through Research model.
WHO IS THIS MOOC FOR?
You don't need to have any engineering skills or knowledge to take part in this MOOC. The ambition of this online training course is to familiarize you with an approach that aims to place you and your students in a research and development posture to produce new knowledge.
Teachers in REP, REP+, rural areas and beginners will benefit from in-depth support and personalized advice to help them get to grips with and follow up their Savanturiers projects.
WHY ENGINEERING AT SCHOOL?
Science and technology are a great field of exploration for stimulating students' questioning and motivation.
The ambition of an Engineering at School project is to enable classes to appropriate these techniques and know-how, to build new knowledge and develop the skills needed to shape the world of tomorrow.
A pedagogical action model based on engineering methods and issues, to develop an innovative, creative, critical and responsible mindset on research topics as varied as :
- mechanics and electronics
- robotics
- reverse engineering
- optics
COURSE FORMAT
This MOOC offers a range of resources - videos, activities, teaching packs, exercises - produced by specialists in education through research, engineers and teachers. You can choose between two possible paths:
- An INITIAL course which will give you a better understanding of the principles and challenges of an Education through Research project applied to engineering. All you have to do is consult the MOOC resources throughout the 5-week course, and take part in the activities offered on FUN.
- A PROJECT course which allows you to prototype your class project, alone or with others.
THE TEACHING TEAM
Bénédicte Assogna, school teacher and Savanturiers ambassador
« I have a master's degree in pedagogy and educational science and have been a school teacher since 2010. I first taught in the Eure department and currently teach CM1 in Bonnières-sur-Seine in the Yvelines department. I'm constantly learning via MOOCs and training courses offered by the French education system. I have already led several MOOCs in the Savanturiers - Ecole de la Recherche collection. »
Bruna Lo Biundo, educational engineer in charge of Savanturiers training courses
« PhD in French literature, passionate about research and its popularization, I have over 15 years' experience in the design and curation of cultural, educational and editorial projects, particularly in the museum and higher education sectors. As a consultant-trainer for doctoral schools, I have designed and run several training courses on professionalizing young researchers and enhancing their skills. I'm joining the Savanturiers-Ecole de la Recherche program as an educational and training engineer.»
David Schumacher, Critical & Complex Systems Architect and Savanturiers mentor
« After starting my career as a software engineer in the field of IT and web solutions for several years, I then moved on to different roles within systems engineering for the energy, medical or photonic systems fields in particular. I accompanied the Savanturiers as a mentor between 2017 and 2019, then in 2020 for the construction of the 1st season of the «Défis Savanturiers». Finally, I've been leading a working group on the modeling-based «Agile System» approach since 2020 within the AFIS (Association Française d'Ingénierie Système). »
