Objectives of the OurCity initiative
- Supporting cities to transform into youth-centric cities through AI and cutting-edge technologies.
- Foster an environment conducive to youth participation by establishing partnerships to connect key urban players as part of a long-term strategy of engagement and transformation.
- Emphasize a relational well-being approach in program implementation.
- Improving the provision of innovative urban services for young people and for all.
In cities, we expect to find the best in culture, healthcare and education, but many cities struggle to meet the needs of young people. Today, more than 4 billion people live in urban areas., This represents more than half the world's population. From here 2050, seven out of ten young people should live in cities. Growing cities, particularly those in emerging economies, hold great promise for development, not only in terms of economic growth, but also for the development of social, political, environmental and cultural systems that prioritize the well-being of citizens.
