The world of work can often be a jungle, where it's difficult to find one's way around and find what suits you best. As for entrepreneurship, it's not necessarily an obvious choice for people who don't have the culture, codes, networks or support needed to launch a project. For people who are far from employment, finding their place in this extremely competitive environment, in a difficult socio-economic context, can quickly seem insurmountable. This can lead to a feeling of failure, which has a detrimental effect on such vital aspects as self-confidence, dynamism, mobility and autonomy. Many integration programs focus on preparing individuals to meet the expectations of the job market, and to move into so-called "shortage" occupations. Visit RTR program really wants to provide the means to take an interest in the empowerment of singular beings, to encourage them to reveal their talents and realize their dreams.
Thanks to the support of the French Ministry of Labor and its partners, in the three regions of Lille-Roubaix, Île-de-France and Marseille-Aix, more than 80 professionals of the CRI, from Lica, the’Catholic University of Lille, of Synergie Family and Chance supported the project with the ambition of accompanying 1,500 people and involving them in the adventure. These people, these beneficiaries, are called “Talents”, to make people more aware that each of us harbors such talents.
Begun in September 2019, RTR will launch in February 2020, just a few months ahead of an event never before seen on such a scale throughout France.
The consequences of the first and subsequent confinements were to accelerate the process of reflection and action to renew methods for identifying future beneficiaries and pedagogy. The impossibility of reaching the target audience through external actions democratized the use of digital tools and the adaptation of pedagogical content to this format. This was followed by a fundamental learning process: the adaptability of practices to individuals encourages their commitment.
The men and women behind the project have taken this tailor-made approach, and its impact has been positively assessed. In the Île-de-France region, just over 325 workshops were offered to 449 of the 538 people identified. What's more, those we refer to as "talents" can also benefit from special follow-up thanks to the coaching start-up Chance.
DEVELOP NEW WAYS OF IDENTIFYING PEOPLE FAR FROM EMPLOYMENT, REMOBILIZING AND TRAINING THEM
RTR offers a range of actions, workshops and project prototyping. These are participative, inclusive and adapted to the progress of the beneficiaries. With the aim of breaking away from a top-down model of transmitting knowledge and learning, staff are asked to adopt a posture of sharing experience and knowledge that can best guide talents. The teams' objectives are to restore self-confidence, awaken curiosity, put talents into action and empower them. These are essential elements in achieving the very concrete objectives of our beneficiaries, which are to find a job or set up their own business.
In short, Réalise tes Rêves offers a way of finding one's way, trying to inspire the importance of meaning, with the final destination remaining in the hands of talent.
In the Île-de-France region, programs are built in three layers:
- The first phase aims to rediscovering oneself and one's skills as well as introspection on the direction to take, not forgetting the ability to tell one's story in a positive way.
- The second aims to learn how to use different tools to find jobs or build entrepreneurial projects in order to better prepare for the development of their professional project. It's the «learning to learn» and «learning by doing» aspect that permeates the workshops set up during this phase.
- The final phase focuses on testing, iteration and thoughtful implementation. The words assessment, projection, strategy and prospecting are at the heart of the device.
Over the past two years, the program's greatest allies have been its iterative approach and the sharing of experiences by all the RTR component players, and its willingness to adapt to its beneficiaries, personalizing the pathway.
Réalise tes Rêves wanted to respond to the government's challenge to develop new ways of identifying, remobilizing and training “invisible” members of the public. “By developing our practices on a small scale, and with the support of an interdisciplinary research team, we have been able to consolidate content that can be disseminated to other territories and other larger structures with similar problems. Réalise tes Rêves is therefore the starting point of a path that we must continue to explore, but above all to pursue elsewhere in other forms and in other territories with their own realities..concludes Omar Kamara, pedagogical coordinator for the RTR project.
RTR CELEBRATES 1,500 BENEFICIARIES' PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT OR SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The “Réalise tes Rêves” consortium invites you on November 9 to “The Revealing Factory” to discover and celebrate the journeys of 1,500 Talents from Paris, Marseille and Lille towards employment or sustainable entrepreneurship.
The closing of the RTR program will provide an opportunity to bring together all the players involved in this adventure. The event will take place at the CRI, in Paris, in the presence of the Lille teams and simultaneously with Marseille.
Guests will be able to meet the Talents, RTR players, partners and researchers, while enjoying workshops, project exhibitions and feedback on the program. While it's certainly time to take stock of these 18 months of experimentation, it's also time to announce new perspectives.
