What is ReModelUN?
ReModelUN is a new way of enhancing the traditional United Nations simulation (MUN).
Instead of representing countries, participants propose their own forward-thinking ideas in special committees. These ideas are then synthesized with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and shared with the agencies. UN1 creating a real opportunity for students to make an impact.
Designed as an easy-to-implement complement to any MUN, ReModelUN goes beyond debate to focus on real-world solutions.
Our pilot program
The first ReModelUN pilot project, launched as part of a special ‘UNESCO MUN on the future of learning, organized by the Learning Planet Institute (LPI) and mymun.com. It focuses on the creation of a “Planetary Academy“, a global educational institution that tackles the challenges of the “tragedy of the commons” (e.g. climate change, resource management), through innovative learning methods.
ReModelUN students are invited to propose ideas for a “Students” Charter for the Planetary Academy’, which could inform the actual decisions of the Institute and its partners, UNESCO and the World Academy of Sciences.’United Nations University (UNU), who have been exploring this concept since 2024.
Why is this important?
- A real impact: Your proposals are examined and taken into account by the LPI for the creation of a “Planetary Academy”.
- Credible collaboration: Organized by leading institutions, including LPI and mymun.com
- Future-oriented: Proposals deemed valid by LPI and its partners are sent to UNESCO and UNU.
How does it work?
- Register via mymun to join the ReModelUN pilot project.
- Prepare with study guides provided by LPI, which describe the latest thinking on the future of learning, the tragedy of the commons and the proposal for a “Planetary Academy”.
- Participate in committee sessions (April 20 - June 10): Work together to draft clauses and resolutions that reflect your collective vision.
- Drafting and voting: Each clause is credited to its authors, with no “main sponsor” controlling the entire resolution.
- Submitting resolutions : Final documents are reviewed by the LPI, then forwarded to the relevant UN agencies for review.
Recognition and next steps
