One of the highlights of Change Week will be the launch of two #LearningPlanet Circles. A #LearningPlanet circle is a thoughtfully created and connected group of member organizations around a designated educational topic. #LearningPlanet circles are designed as safe spaces to meet, discuss constructively and co-construct impactful initiatives and projects. For more information, watch this space: we're launching a series of interviews ahead of the week!

April 23, 2021 - Catalyst 2030, the global movement of social entrepreneurs and social innovators collaborating to achieve the SDGs by 2030, will hold its second annual Catalyst Change Week from May 3 to 7, 2021.
“At Catalyst Change Week 2021, we'll bring together experts, social innovators and representatives from the private sector and governments to present, listen and learn to understand each other. Event participants will be able to tap into the collective wisdom around system change while forging partnerships across countries, regions and sectors,” said Jeroo Billimoria, spokesperson and one of the movement's co-founders.
Catalyst Change Week 2021 will host 120 online sessions over five days, covering all major time zones. Session presenters will include Catalyst 2030 award winners and finalists who will bring their distinct contributions to the program, as well as Catalyst 2030 members and change-makers from around the world.
The Week will build on the success of Catalyst Change Week 2020, which attracted over 4,000 people. Together, participants represented over 1,600 organizations in 131 countries.
This year's themes reflect the movement's priorities at this unique time in our global history. The Covid-19 pandemic could set back the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by 50 years or more. It is in this context that the creation of a space for the world's leading social innovators to interact, co-create and share best practices is all the more important.
The sessions will be structured around these three key themes.
Login. As a fundamental tenet of our theory of change, we serve as honest brokers, fostering connections between the different stakeholders in our ecosystem. Our aim is to create an environment conducive to collaboration and co-creation as we seek, together, to solve the most pressing problems of our time.
Celebrate. Celebration is a great way to encourage, inspire and re-energize each other in our work. We showcase best practices, which creates a ripple effect when other stakeholders adopt these practices to meet their own challenges.
Accelerate. We bring together key stakeholders to deliver tangible results for policy development. This is particularly relevant when we engage with government stakeholders. As highlighted in our reports Embracing Complexity, Getting from Crisis to Systems Change and New Allies, social entrepreneurs' collaboration with governments is key to driving change and achieving the SDGs at local, national and global levels.
The main objective is to foster a better understanding of the conditions that enable social entrepreneurs and their allies to thrive. This understanding will then be translated into tangible policy recommendations and programs that can be implemented on a global scale.
To achieve this goal, Catalyst Week 2021 is structured around six key objectives.
- Celebrating positive models of system change
- Strengthen the’commitment to system change in policy-making
- Presenting practical problem-solving skills within the network
- Do hear the voices of unheard people in conversation
- Speed up Efforts to achieve the SDGs by 2030
- Learn of all network members and build capacity
