The Climate Action Academy is a virtual training program on climate change and green solutions for educators teaching students in grades 7 to 12. The goal of this program is to prepare educators to teach climate change in their classrooms in an interdisciplinary, action-oriented way.
The month-long online training course presents facts, stories and perspectives on the climate crisis, motivates teachers to take action for a sustainable future, and shares pedagogical tools for innovation. Resources include visual and didactic tools that reference systems thinking and design, storytelling, creativity and teamwork. Participants are coached to design lesson plans, classroom activities and institutional programs to meet new educational and environmental challenges. They also join an international network of climate change actors and earn a certificate of Climate-KIC.
The service provides complementary guides for teachers and educators to help integrate climate innovation and action into the current school curriculum, whatever the subject.
