On Thursday June 2, the “Stories Behind the Boxes” event took place at the Learning Planet Institute. The aim was to present a three-month summary of the humanitarian aid project in Ukraine.
This project is the fruit of collaboration between Plast - Scouts d'Ukraine en France and the Institut Planète Enfants. It was born of the need to act and help people affected by the war in Ukraine.
The Learning Planet Institute made its premises available to volunteers and became a humanitarian aid center for three months. Over 100 volunteers joined the team during this period:
- More 100 volunteers have joined the team.
- More 1000 donors and partners were involved in collecting and delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
- More 75 tons of aid (medical supplies, food, hygiene products, baby products, equipment (sleeping bags, mattresses, power banks, etc.)) were sent to Ukraine.
- 45 vehicles filled with boxes containing donations from the Learning Planet Institute reached over 20 destinations in Ukraine.
This event was an opportunity to showcase the photos taken by two talented photographers and committed volunteers - Andrii Bulavka and Hervé Champollion, who have been following our activity since the beginning of the commitment. This moment of solidarity was also an opportunity to conclude the humanitarian aid collection at the Learning Planet Institute and to announce the transformation of their project in order to maintain sustainable aid for the Ukrainian people.
The humanitarian aid project team is immensely grateful to all those who took part in our activities: the Learning Planet Institute community, volunteers, donors, partners and those who helped us spread the word and raise awareness of our work.
