Frédérique Alexandre-Bailly on tomorrow's skills at the Learning Planet Institute

Creating a sustainable world means taking into account the skills of tomorrow, needed to adapt to technological advances, climate change and socio-economic challenges. Aware of this challenge, the Learning Planet Institute has built up a network of contacts who work all year round to identify and pass on all the skills, knowledge and professional competencies crucial to fulfillment and action in a constantly changing environment.

These so-called« of tomorrow »These skills emphasize creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability to technological advances, lifelong learning, emotional intelligence and more. They are seen as crucial in an environment where interdisciplinary collaboration is increasingly common and the ability to adapt to rapid change - particularly technological change - is essential. Individuals capable of combining technical and cross-disciplinary skills are better equipped to face current and future challenges. and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.

Contrary to popular belief, these skills are not innate, and the people involved in education must enable each individual to acquire them. The Festival of Learning is the perfect opportunity to highlight the players committed to transforming education to meet the challenges of climate, society and technology. Created in 2019 by the Learning Planet Institute and the’UNESCO, the LearningPlanet Festival (the French version of which is the Festival de l'Apprendre) takes place every year around the International Education Day (January 24).

For the past few months, every two weeks, we've been unveiling a series of portraits and initiatives by young people, teachers, education managers, public players and project leaders, mobilized around different themes:
