About transition pedagogy: Educating for the future we want:

Today's times demand pedagogies that cultivate integrated knowledge and global citizenship, yet we continue to educate for a world we don't want. In the long term, we need education systems aligned with new imperatives, while in the short term offering innovative curricula and teaching within existing systems. The forward-looking educators involved in the tables of this Forum - Executives and Practical - addressingeach of these aspects.

About the Grand Transition Initiative (GTI)

The Great Transition Initiative is an online ideas forum and international network for the critical exploration of concepts, strategies and visions for a transition to a future of enriched lives, human solidarity and a resilient biosphere. By strengthening scientific discourse and public awareness of the possibilities arising from converging social, economic and environmental crises, and by fostering a broad network of thinkers and doers, it aims to contribute to a new praxis for global transformation.

As a result, GTI maintains a cosmopolitan perspective that is attuned to critical questions of scale and how nested systems operate at global, regional and local levels. It gives voice to diverse contributors motivated by both ethical and pragmatic concerns about the need to rethink ways of thinking, learning, acting and being. It aims to deepen understanding of the values and cultural dimensions of global change, as well as the social, economic, political and scientific aspects of a major transition.
