A virus has transformed our lives and shaken our societies. It has dramatically worsened the situation of the most vulnerable (the young, the elderly, women and the poorest). It made us realize what science and philosophy were trying to teach us: our interdependence with other members of our species and with all the components of the biosphere.

This book, a beacon of hope, is an invitation to take action, to do together what we couldn't do alone. What if we learned to take care of ourselves, others and the planet? What if we were able to rethink the legacy of Athens and the Enlightenment (including democracy, debate, citizenship and education) to make it more inclusive, more ecological, more able to meet the challenges of younger generations?

Drawing on existing initiatives and developments in collective intelligence and artificial intelligence, François Taddei invites us to rethink the sharing of knowledge and the exercise of citizenship, and to invent desirable futures together.
