“AI and self-management: How can AI help humans collaborate to transform collective decision-making?” is a one-day research workshop to be held onApril 9, 2025 to the’Learning Planet Institute. The workshop is organized by’ unit ofresearch Learning Transitions (UR LT)
By invitation only
brief description of the workshopBy acquiring the skills and experience to organize and make their own decisions, communities around the world have an essential tool for political and economic empowerment. But spreading the values and practices associated with small-scale, everyday democracy is a challenge, for reasons of scale, resources and research into the basic elements of self-governance training.
How can AI help humans collaborate to transform collective decision-making? This workshop takes on a new dimension by exploring how AI can expand collective action by facilitating the dissemination of beneficial practices and useful tools. In this workshop, we will bring together experts from diverse backgrounds to co-design a vision of the role of AI and self-management in shaping the future of self-directed and group learning and education. The workshop consists of three interconnected phases based on the principles and methodologies of human-centered design, participatory design and co-design: establishing a common understanding, identifying research objectives and designing research prototypes.
This workshop is part of a series on AI in learning organized by UR LT. Previous workshops have explored the themes “Ethics of AI”(January 2024) and“AI for Collective Intelligence”(December 2024).
