«We have lived through an extraordinary history of philanthropy, which, once again, has been going on for over 20 years. And it's a story of incredible fertility that needs to be told.» With these words’Olivier Brault, General Manager of Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, describes the unique adventure that the Institute and the Foundation have embarked upon over the past two decades. A collaboration based on a shared commitment to innovation, research and the transformation of education. An alliance around a shared vision to build a sustainable and inclusive future. An overview of this exceptional partnership in three chapters.
Chapter 1: The meeting
This first chapter looks back at the origins of the partnership between the Learning Planet Institute and the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation. Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Life Sciences received in 2003 by François Taddei ; the encounter between two biologists, François Taddei and Ariel Lindner, and their willingness to explore, through collaboration and interdisciplinarity, new ways of learning, teaching and doing research; the Foundation's interest in contributing to R&D in the general interest and supporting «a proposal to invent something new that meets a real need».» (sic) ; the creation of Center for Interdisciplinary Research (CRI) in 2006. It also traces the careers of two young talents: Aude Bernheim and Flora Vincent, alumni of Master and the’Doctoral school developed by the Institute, have become brilliant researchers.
Chapter 2: Taking flight
The second chapter explores the evolution of this partnership over the years. Thanks to support from the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, the Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires (CRI - then Learning Planet Institute) has been able to develop innovative programs, anchoring itself in the world of research and education, while promoting a bold, collaborative approach. The Institute has also been able to offer students, researchers and teachers a single frame to rethink the future of education and society. An experiment as witnessed by Kevin Lhoste and Edward Stevenette, This phase has enabled the Learning Planet Institute to multiply its impact and extend its links with other organizations. This phase has enabled the Learning Planet Institute to multiply its impact and extend its links with a wide range of partners. local, national and international partners.
Chapter 3: The future

Like Maiwand Qayomi, student from Master, and Pearl Oriele Perumal, winner of the Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge 2024, who embody the youth who are working to make a positive impact on the world.
As the partnership comes to an end, the Learning Planet Institute remains true to its mission: to shape the education of tomorrow, by cross-fertilizing knowledge and co-constructing sustainable solutions to the challenges of today's world.
