The example of Grigny

Since 2022, the Learning Planet Institute has been working to support the early childhood sector and the professional development of its workforce. More than 200 hours of training have already been delivered, with the support of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations.

Building on this work, the Learning Planet Institute is now collaborating with the City of Grigny and its Early Childhood Department to design and implement a new transition framework between early learning settings and school, specifically for children under the age of three.

The project aims to create an educational continuum that supports both continuity of learning and the wellbeing of very young children. It is structured around two core questions:

  • How can children be prepared for foundational learning (language development, early stimulation, socio-cognitive development, etc.) before and during Under-Threes classes?
  • How can we support and ensure a successful transition into school — a key period during which children gradually adapt to a new social, physical and human environment?

To achieve this, the Learning Planet Institute mobilises several key levers:

Co-creating the framework with all relevant stakeholders : early years and school professionals, experts, families, city representatives and institutions

Strengthening pedagogical contentto support early childhood development — from childcare settings to nursery school — with a strong focus on continuity of learning through the training of the professionals involved
