A training program in GAMA (agent–based modeling) is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts, techniques, and tools of agent–based modeling. During the following 5 days of training you will be able to design agent-based models addressing important issues, which may be useful for other projects.
The program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to develop and analyze complex simulations that incorporate various agents, environments, and interactions.
The training program contains an overview of the basic principles of agent-based modeling, including the definition of agents, their behavior, and interactions with other agents and the environment. We will introduce the GAMA platform, example models, and its programming language.
The training is project based with hands-on exercises that involve developing agent-based models using GAMA, gradually progressing to more complex simulations that incorporate multiple agents and dynamic environments. These exercises cover a range of topics, such as social dynamics, transportation networks, urban planning and applied to sustainability issues (urban, sociological, ecological). You will also learn to deal with data analysis and data visualization coupling it with agent-based simulations, using additional tools such as GIS.
