23 novembre 2023 | 10h00 – 12h00
ConferenceWorkshop

We are very pleased to inform you that for the monthly Masterclass, we will welcome Simon Klein, Science officer at OCE (Office for Climate Education).

Climate change and biodiversity crisis can cause strong emotional reactions, in line with the high unpredictability and somehow alarmist prevision made by scientists and related by the media. Students from early ages to higher education are invited to study climate change, its mechanisms and its consequences on humans and ecosystems. Therefore, it is more likely that psychoaffective aspects are mobilised by learners. The Office for Climate Education (OCE) works at empowering teachers all around the world to endorse quality climate change education; and one of its missions is to develop resources and professional development programs around eco-anxiety and other emotional related questions concerning climate change. In this present workshop, Simon Klein, science officer at OCE invites you to explore one specific activity around sharing your climate emotions, and to discuss the role education can have to deal with potential strong emotions regarding the issue. Finally, Simon will evoke some research-action projects he is coordinating with the OCE.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, November 23rd 2023 at 10am in the LPI Learning Center.
