Kids’ climate awareness, actions, and mental health, in France, Brazil, and the U.S.

Dr. Laelia Benoit, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Associate Research Scientist at Yale University

Learning from the research program Earth Emotions, we will learn how young children and adolescents navigate the mental stressors of climate change and the support they want for their environmental actions. Based on interviews with more than 120 children and adolescents aged 6-18, we will compare cultural supports and barriers to climate action in France, the U.S., and Brazil. This will help us learn how to make the most of our culture and find inspiration in other countries!
